Jagan Wants To See People, After Polls

After the resounding victory of the YSR Congress party in the latest by-elections, party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy wants to see the outside world and feel the public reaction directly.
When the results were declared, Jagan was in the Chanchalguda jail and he had watched the overwhelming public reaction only on television. Though all the party MLAs and other leaders met him in the jail, he could not really feel the air of jubilation in the outside world. He could not come out of the jail but was questioned by the CBI court only through video conferencing mode.
That is the reason why Jagan filed a memo before the court on Saturday, appealing that he would not like to be tried through video conferencing mode, but would appear directly before the court to put forth his argument personally. It would not only give him an opportunity to see the crowds and party workers at least near the court or the jail and feel their happiness, but also make a scathing attack on the CBI for trying to eliminate him. The prolonged power cut in the jail and lack of proper security for him when he was brought to jail last time are some of the reasons he wanted to project before the court.
However, the CBI court turned down his plea and said he would be tried only through video conferencing mode in the wake of security concern.
